An illustrious vineyard winery of great historical import, the Kay Brothers Amery property is planted to sacred vines which can be traced back to cuttings transplanted from the original Hardy site at Tintara. Holding pride of place as one of Mclaren Vale's first commercial vineyards, the winemaking practices at Kay Brothers have remained largely unchanged since establishment in the nineteenth century. Parcels of the choicest fruit, selected by Taylor Ferguson on the basis of full physiological ripeness, excellent varietal expression and defined regionality are vinified into an intense and flavoursome Brut Cuvee exhibiting attractive colour and fine effervescence. Established in 1898, Taylor Ferguson have built on a foundation of excellence and consistency over several generations to become one of Australia's most esteemed wine and spirit merchants. Their highly skilled winemaking team have continued the traditions by crafting a contemporarily styled sparkling range of distinction and stylish appeal. Brut Cuvee is treated to a closely monitored, temperature controlled vinification with minimalist handling to retain vitality.
Light straw colour with fine persistent bead. Citrus and tropical fragrances on the bouquet, complexed by ripe stonefruits and slight toastyness. Lusciously ripe, lively fresh flavours on the mellow, elegant palate, crisp and clean with stonefruits, citrus and supple yeast expressions before a lingering, pleasantly dry finish. Equally enjoyable on its own or as a revitalizing adjunct to hors d'oeuvres and fresh, light cuisine.
